Àníké moet elke ochtend èko verkopen, maar dat weerhoudt haar er niet van om naar school te gaan. Ze houdt van school en wil dokter worden. Haar moeder heeft echter haar lot bepaald: zodra ze de basisschool afmaakt, zal ze zich bij tante Remí in de stad voegen als kleermaker. Wanneer een mysterieuze gast Àníké's school bezoekt, krijgt ze de kans een studiebeurs te winnen die haar lot zal veranderen. Zal de hulp van haar vrienden Oge, Ìlérí en Àríyo de schoenmaker genoeg zijn?
